Student answer (Band 7.0)
Some parents thinks that their child will perform better if they are kept with the children of same academic capabilities while others have different opinion, they believe that their children will learn more if they are in the environment of wide range of academic performers. My inclination is more towards the later view as children in unpredictable surrounding prepares for any kind of life tests of the future.
Firstly, parents who wants to keep their children in certain class of student thinks that if their child compete with high achievers he/she will always score more through out their student life. This kind of approach may result into creating a very bright student in traditional studies. However, things can really go south if it becomes overly competitive. Moreover, this way a child could not learn other essential qualities for life, he will only be a genius in academic field but in social and practical life children like this really struggles badly.
On the other hand, if a child is learning within a huge spectrum of academic abilities, pupil can learn wide range of skills from other students. For example, some student are very intelligent in drawing then other student take inspiration from this kid in drawing. Furthermore, some kid may be very good in sports. This student can help their counterparts with physical sports, in exchange the intelligent students can teach them their theoretical subjects.
In Conclusion, children that are being kept in a class of students with particular academic range may excel in studies and they may left behind in other aspects of life. While pupil who are in diverse environment have better chance of evaluating themselves in every other aspects of life other than studies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction. The ideas are relevant, such as the potential for social development in diverse classrooms versus the academic focus of ability-grouped classes. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding drawing and sports is a bit simplistic and could have been expanded to better illustrate the broader benefits of diverse environments. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more sophisticated reasoning or detailed examples. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, and the position is maintained throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into four paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'In Conclusion', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the use of 'this way' or 'this student' which could be more precisely linked to the preceding ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is generally clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'unpredictable surrounding' and 'counterparts'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'things can really go south' (too informal), 'struggles badly' (awkward collocation), and 'every other aspects' (grammatical error in pluralization). To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and refining the precision of word choices to avoid informal or repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('parents thinks', 'some student are') and pluralization ('every other aspects'). There are also issues with article usage and sentence construction, such as 'children that are being kept' and 'they may left behind'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of error-free complex sentences and proofreading for basic agreement errors would significantly improve the score.
