Student answer (Band 6.5)
Due to inherent diversity of human perspectives and experiences, it is not uncommon for people to different opinions on a particular matter. Hence, some people are in favour of children learn better when they are placed in classes with children of similar academic abilities, while other thinks that children learn better when they are in classes with children representing a diverse range of academic abilities. It has become a debate among people.
Before stating my own opinion, i would like to explain both point of view,
Initiating with the point, children can learn better with others who have same academic abilities because they can share their opinions in better way and they can help each other by sharing their own thoughts and experiences for example children from health care field can share their experiences with other students ehich helps them to grow more professionally in their field. Moreover, students can have good competition and they can feel competitive with others who have same academic credibility’s.
On the other hand, students who learn better when they are in classes with children representing a diverse range of academic abilities can educate others about their learning styles which helps them to understand better. People with diverse academic abilities can teach other students more effectively ehich helps them to think vast and to gain knowledge.
To wrap up, after meticulously analyzing both the
views, I am in favour of people who think children learn better with similar academic abilities because they feel more competitive and share their knowledge, experiences, and thoughts with each other which helps them to develop more in their fields. However, having an opinion is a right for
everyone and it depends upon the mindset of the people that which view they are
in favour of.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example provided regarding the 'health care field' is slightly confusing in the context of children's education, as it seems to refer to professional adults rather than students. The arguments remain somewhat superficial, lacking the depth required for a higher band. While the prompt is addressed, the supporting points could be more thoroughly explored to demonstrate a more nuanced understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Initiating with the point', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' are used to link sentences and paragraphs. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or unnatural, such as 'Initiating with the point'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Overall, the structure is functional and supports the reader's understanding of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use more sophisticated language, such as 'meticulously analyzing' and 'inherent diversity'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'academic credibility’s' and 'think vast'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the argument. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'other thinks', 'children learn better when they are placed') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and awkward comma placement. While the errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to basic grammatical accuracy is needed.
