Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is often considered by some that youngsters learn more if they interact with those student who have same interest, while other think that they learn more if they are with those learners in class who have different field of interest. In my perspective, they learn more if they are with students who have different interest. In further paragraphs I will discuss both views.
On the one hand, attending a class with those students who have same academic abilities is useful for students as to clear their doubts easily. To elaborate it, sometime students have doubts but they feel hesitate to take opinions from teachers and student who have more knowledge than them. If they are with same ability students in class then they can easily talk with them and clear their doubts because they all have same abilities so they will help each other. For example, a survey collected by a university state that 70% of students feel more confident in class if they are with same ability students in classroom.
On the other hand, sharing a class with diverse academic ability of students is help student to taking a good interest in studies because they want to do better than other classmates and it increases competitive behaviour in students. To illustrate it , students of different ability in class have diverse level of knowledge and they want to be better from each other and want better grades in class as compared to other students. For example, students feel competition in class if they have diverse level of academic students in classroom.
In conclusion, students having a same ability students in classroom help them to feel confident and while having a student with diverse abilities increase a competition levels in class.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that same-ability classes help students clear doubts, the explanation is repetitive. Similarly, the argument for diverse-ability classes focuses almost exclusively on competition. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the long-term educational benefits or drawbacks of each approach, rather than focusing only on immediate classroom dynamics. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and you use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' to signal shifts in perspective. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is unclear; for example, in the second paragraph, the phrase 'To elaborate it' is grammatically awkward and does not effectively link to the previous sentence. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'same ability students' and 'diverse academic ability', which appears multiple times. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'feel hesitate' instead of 'feel hesitant' and 'taking a good interest' instead of 'taking an interest'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and collocations related to education and pedagogy to demonstrate a broader lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'a survey... state that' should be 'states that'), missing articles (e.g., 'in class' vs 'in a class'), and incorrect word forms (e.g., 'is help student' instead of 'helps students'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would be highly beneficial.
