There is split opinions regarding whether there should be classes with students of similar capability to learn the lessons, or they should be filled with different academic capabilities student. While having uniform ability among student to grasp the knowledge is beneficial in designing and delivering the syllabus, this essay will discuss why diversity among students is necessary in classroom in terms of learning.

On the one hand, institutions can design their curriculum accordingly when they are divided based on learner's learning power. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The essay addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both viewpoints and providing a clear opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of tailored curriculum design for ability-grouped classes and the promotion of soft skills in mixed-ability settings. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the example regarding students with 'logical' versus 'creative' abilities is a bit simplistic and does not fully explore the pedagogical implications of ability grouping. The conclusion is also incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence, which slightly affects the overall impact of the argument. Nevertheless, the position is consistent throughout the response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'As a result', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, there are some issues with referencing and flow; for example, the phrase 'different academic capabilities student' is awkward and impacts the cohesion of the opening sentence. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints, but the abrupt ending of the final paragraph disrupts the overall coherence of the piece.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific language like 'curriculum', 'academic capabilities', and 'soft skills'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'split opinions' instead of 'divided opinions', and 'mixed learning compatibilities students' which is grammatically and lexically imprecise. The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but the lack of precision and occasional errors in collocation prevent a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with pluralization and article usage (e.g., 'each students', 'in classroom', 'assist him understand'). Subject-verb agreement and word order are occasionally problematic, such as 'there is split opinions'. While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. The incomplete final sentence also represents a failure to maintain grammatical control at the very end of the response.
