Student answer (Band 6.0)

Learning is a great concept for getting knowledge from others and knowing latest things similarly like current affairs and latest innovation technologies.

Some people believe that children learn better when they are placed in classes with children of similar academic abilities However Others believe that children learn better when they are in classes with children representing a diverse range of academic abilities. I entirely Agree with these statement

Learning with similar academic abilities provide a great concept of gaining knowledge with same age groups and academic abilities provides more comfortable and less competetion between them as all children having same habitat. and also children getting more confident while everyone is averagely on similar academic status. For instance- students with grade c can easily comfortable with grade c students and also never feel stressed about everyone is getting A GRADE.

Students with diverse range of academic ability also helpful to grow the inspiration and motivation towards learning as it provide a objective to push towards at least grade b rather than a or c.

In additional, Student with good academic abilities can be helpful to student with less acadamic abilities as Both can share there thoughts and exchange of knowlege that can help them each other to understand new things of interest.

To be conclude, Academic abilities with similar or diverse range both have its own merits as it provide a comfortable and good academic interest which is good for student to focus on learning new things from same standard as well as with highly intelligent acadmic student.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that similar-ability classes reduce competition and diverse classes foster inspiration, these points are not fully extended with sophisticated examples. The introduction is slightly off-topic, focusing on a general definition of learning rather than the specific prompt. To reach a higher band, ensure that every sentence directly supports the prompt's core question and provide more detailed, nuanced explanations for your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'In additional' is a non-standard collocation, and the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the concluding paragraph does not effectively synthesise the arguments presented. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly improve the flow and logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary range is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'latest innovation technologies' and 'same habitat,' which do not fit the context. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations. To improve, focus on learning word families and common academic collocations. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to use more precise terminology related to education, such as 'homogeneous grouping' or 'peer-assisted learning,' to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'abilities provides'), missing articles, and incorrect punctuation (e.g., 'For instance-'). The sentence structure is often fragmented, and there are errors in word order. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
