Student answer (Band 5.5)
In my opinion, I totally agree with this given statement that teaching children together can who has similar abilities
On the one side, there are a number of reasons why children learn more effectively with same abilities children. Firstly, there is no need to use different types of style to teach them because they have the same ability to learn. Teacher can use only one effective method to teach them, which can be beneficial for both of them. For example, if all learners can not speak then teacher can teach them by using sign languages.
On the other hand, I agree with those people who consider all children should teach in the same class. firstly, this kind of teaching style helps to boost their confidence because they feel equality is important. Moreover, teacher can focus more on weak students by making group. Children might be try to compete with other students who are more good in learning. As a result, this competition can help to encourge increase their learning abilities.
In conclusion, I agree with the given statement due to many reasons. The importance of these kind of learning cannot be neglected.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to discuss both views, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient detail or relevant examples. Your position is somewhat contradictory; you state you agree with the first view in the introduction, but then state you agree with the second view in the body paragraph. This lack of a clear, consistent position makes it difficult to follow your argument. To improve, ensure you expand on each point with specific examples and maintain a clear, singular stance throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the logical progression is hindered by the contradictory stance mentioned above. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly' and 'Moreover' are used, but they are sometimes applied mechanically or incorrectly. The transition between the two viewpoints is abrupt, and the conclusion is very brief, failing to summarize the main points effectively. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph flows logically from the previous one, supporting a unified argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'same abilities children' instead of 'children of similar abilities' and 'more good in learning' instead of 'more academically capable'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and collocations. For example, instead of 'teaching children together', consider 'homogeneous grouping' or 'ability-based streaming'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('Teacher can use', 'children should teach'), article usage, and sentence fragments ('who has similar abilities'). These errors are noticeable and sometimes make the text difficult to read. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice, which is often required when discussing educational policies.
