Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the present scenario, some people claim that children learn a lot of things when they placed in classrooms with children of same abilities however, opponents believe that children with diversity of several academic qualities helps them in unique manner. I believe discuss both sides in upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, children with same mental level of abilities have an identical mindsets on the behalf of which they will play together or does study in same manner consequently, it helps them to grow their cognitive growth. Secondly, they can share ideas freely with each other without any hesitation. In this way they will learn in a proper way. Thirdly, they perform better due to their peers. For instance, if someone wants to do math questions other will copy them because they have same mindsets or they will learn together.
On the other hand, if students put with higher ability children they can face discrimination or less confident. For instance, if a student is topper in all subjects and sits with average children it may give mental pressure to another who is not that much capable. Moreover, children with higher abilities have different mindsets they will not be a perfect match for each other they need excessive work to do comparatively others need basics to learn and to reach their level. In my perspective, children should have those schedules according to their own mindset teachers analysis their capabilities and teach them according to their level because they are so sensitive at growing age.
To conclude, after these thoughts and deliberations we can say that keeping children with higher level ones put extra burden on them and they might suffer mental pressure. To ensure their growth teachers should take some initiatives according to their performance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding 'same mental level' is repetitive and lacks depth, focusing on 'copying' rather than pedagogical benefits. The second body paragraph attempts to discuss the benefits of diversity but quickly shifts into a discussion about the negative impacts of mixed-ability classes, which is slightly off-focus. To improve, you should provide more specific, well-reasoned examples that clearly illustrate the educational advantages or disadvantages of each approach rather than relying on generalisations about 'mental pressure'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'on the behalf of which' or 'after these thoughts and deliberations'. Additionally, the transition between sentences within paragraphs is occasionally abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'mental level of abilities', 'topper', and 'not that much capable'. These choices occasionally hinder the clarity of your argument. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to education, such as 'academic aptitude', 'differentiated instruction', or 'peer-assisted learning', rather than relying on informal or repetitive language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'children with diversity... helps them'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'if students put with higher ability children'). While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed with correct relative clauses and prepositions.
