Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals consider that children learn better when they sit in the classroom having the students of similar abilities whereas some people believe that children having a different range of academic abilities help children to learn more. In my opinion, sitting in the classroom having various range of academic abilities will help children to learn more.
Firstly, Children get chance to learn something new from various range of academic abilities. Every child have different qualities in different aspects, which can help other children to develop that quality in themselves by learning from other child. For example, a child who have the ability to do public speaking with confidence can help other child who feels nervous by giving his or her experience that how to speak with confidence and tell the areas of improvement to the child during practice rather than just learning from internet. Moreover, A study in Russia states that children learn and adapt more easily from their peers in comparison from others.
Secondly, Sitting in the classroom of children having similar abilities will enhance the growth of child. child will love to go to school because of having the friends, peers of same interest and they all can share their viewpoints and ideas on particular topic in which all are having interest. As a result, students will have various ideas and can learn a wide range of things and can learn the topic with more interest. For example, Students doing project on art and craft, will help all the students to divide the project and complete on time because every child have the similar abilities in their respective topic and able to complete on time by sharing the ideas and making their learning as a fun.
To conclude, although similar abilities make the learning fun and help in making the project easy, Having classroom of various range of abilities help in the development of child in different areas and help to learn various new things and new topic from their peers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both viewpoints and providing a clear opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of peer learning in diverse groups and the comfort of similar-ability groupings. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding public speaking is a good start but lacks depth, and the second body paragraph struggles to clearly articulate why similar-ability grouping is beneficial, as the example provided is slightly confusing. To improve, ensure that each point is fully extended with more logical explanation rather than just stating the benefit.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude', though some of these are used in a slightly mechanical way. Referencing is generally clear, although there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the general statement about peer learning and the specific example in the first body paragraph could be better integrated. Overall, the logical flow is sufficient for the reader to understand the writer's argument without difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is some repetition of phrases like 'academic abilities' and 'learn more'. While the writer attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'peers' and 'viewpoints', the range is somewhat limited. There are also minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'giving his or her experience that how to speak' instead of 'sharing their experience on how to speak'. To reach a higher band, the student should aim for more varied vocabulary and more precise collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Every child have', 'child will love', 'every child have the similar abilities') and article usage (e.g., 'a child who have the ability to do public speaking'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not generally impede communication. The punctuation is mostly functional, but there are some issues with capitalization (e.g., 'Moreover, A study'). To improve, the student needs to focus on basic grammatical accuracy, specifically pluralization and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex structures.
