Student answer (Band 6.0)
This is a question of debate that how the class structure for students should be designed. Some people argue that children can leran better if they attend classes with children of similar academic abilities, while others argue that it would be more beneficial for learners to have peers with diverse range of academic abilities along with them. In this essay I will discuss both of the views before presenting my own opinion.
On the one hand, students can adapt everything efficiently if all the members have similar congitive abilities during the learning process. Moreover, it would make teacher's job more easy and they can create appropriate learning activities according to the needs of the pupils. Additonally, there would be no extra work load on the educators. They will be more beneficial for the students and can give the right amount of attention to everyone in the group. For example, if everyone in the class is good in mathematics, there would be no hassle for the educator to make extra study material for weak students.
On the other hand, there are more chances for the students to learn about more aspects of life when they study with students with different level of congitive abilities. There are so many benefits for the kids when the meet peers who have different thinking and thoughts. Furthermore, they can gain more benefits from their peers. To illustrate, if one students having difficulties in one subject and his or her deskmate is good at that particular subject, he can help him or her.
In my opinion, there should be mix classes for the students, where they can meet and gain best experience from their peers. Where they can share their knowledge and make everything easy for other students too.
In the conclusion, however, it is a topic of controversy that students should share class sessions with the peers with different academic abilities or not, but class full of different personalties will always be beneficial for everyone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that similar-ability classes reduce teacher workload, the explanation remains superficial. Similarly, the benefits of mixed-ability classes are illustrated with a simple example of peer tutoring, but the argument could be strengthened by discussing social development or long-term academic outcomes. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, restating the prompt rather than synthesizing the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more depth and specific reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition in the final paragraph is slightly awkward with the use of 'however' at the start of the sentence. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be more sophisticated to move beyond a simple list of points.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'academic abilities', 'cognitive abilities', and 'educators'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'adapt everything efficiently' (perhaps 'grasp concepts') and 'make teacher's job more easy' (should be 'easier'). There are also minor spelling errors like 'leran' and 'Additonally'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater nuance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'This is a question of debate that how...' (should be 'The debate concerns how...'), 'they will be more beneficial' (referring to the teacher, not the class structure), and 'one students having difficulties' (should be 'one student has'). Punctuation is mostly correct, but the sentence structures are occasionally clunky. To achieve a higher band, focus on increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences and ensuring subject-verb agreement.
