Student answer (Band 4.5)
Some people believe that children should be placed in schools for achieving multiple skills and abilities while on the other hand some think that they will learn more under their parent's guidance. Although, the latter opinon can be beneficial in some cases, but I believe that children can grow their skills better while being around their families.
Schools are no doubtably the best place for children to learn and grow abilities under professional guidance. The teachers play an important role in getting the best version out of a student and can groom each of them to be professionally ready to enter into the real world where they are suppose to deal with real people. But school is the only place where students can be influenced or compared to others and get involve in some physical events like skipping classes, adapting harmful habits like consume alcohol, smoking or illegal substances which can affect their health in later life.
On the other hand, the children who are grown up around their parents are comparatively well-nurtured and disciplined. They learn from their parents to deal with real life people and and they are street smart rather than some bookish knowledge. And according to the late warrior "Shree Swami Vivekanand", parents are the best teachers and he made that point so true in today's life that in some villages in India where awareness about educating a child is not there, parents support their children to become well-knowledged and achieve all their dreams.
In conclusion, I undrestand that schools are the best place to groom children and improve abilities but I believe that children can grow more while being nurtured by their parents.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0
The response fails to address the specific prompt provided. The task asks for a discussion on grouping children by 'similar academic abilities' versus a 'diverse range of academic abilities'. Instead, the essay discusses the merits of school versus parental guidance. Because the response is off-topic and does not address the core requirements of the prompt, it cannot be awarded a passing score for Task Achievement. The position is clear, but it is irrelevant to the actual question asked.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression. However, the lack of relevance to the prompt makes the overall structure ineffective. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion', but they are often used to connect ideas that do not support the task. Paragraphing is present, but the content within the paragraphs is not focused on the required topic.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'no doubtably' (undoubtedly) and 'well-knowledged'. The range is limited, and the student relies on simple, repetitive phrasing. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of errors in word formation prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'where they are suppose to' (supposed to), 'get involve' (involved), and 'consume alcohol' (consuming alcohol). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in subject-verb agreement and verb forms. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing.
