Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some individuals finds that kids have shown better results when they were enrolled with the children matching academic skills. However, the other group support the idea of having children with a wide range of educational skill-set. Additionally, I strongly support the idea that they will show productive results when they are taught with youngsters having same academic talent.

Initially, the children with equal theoretical capacity might show acceptable results because they have a better chance to discuss the topics with their classmates. Moreover, a study reveals that the children finds more comfortable with the kids of their age having same mindset and goals. It is because there are some children who are shy, nervous, and lack motivation.

Teenagers who were accepted the offer letter into school with wide range of classroom activities are tend to show average results. An article published in the national newspaper undercovers that the group with various skills lack promising results due to mixing them with wide range of abilities where instead of focusing on one type of talent, they were forced to learn various skills at a very same time. Furthermore, they get confused to understand the basics of education at early age.

To put it in a nutshell, I support the idea of placing the children with their classmate having same college skills. However, in their twenties you can motivate them to take part in a diverse group because they have developed their minds to take part in group projects and have better communication skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for diverse classrooms is supported by a vague reference to an 'article' and a somewhat confusing explanation about students being 'forced to learn various skills'. The ideas lack depth and specific examples that would elevate the response. While the position is consistent, the supporting arguments rely on generalizations rather than well-developed reasoning. To improve, you should focus on providing more logical, detailed explanations for why one approach might be superior to the other.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Initially', 'Moreover', and 'To put it in a nutshell' are used to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel forced. For example, the jump from discussing 'teenagers' to 'their twenties' in the conclusion introduces a new idea that was not previously explored, which disrupts the logical progression. Improving the use of referencing and ensuring that each paragraph builds upon the previous one would enhance the overall coherence of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'academic skills' and 'various skills'. There are also instances of awkward word choices, such as 'undercovers' (likely meant 'uncovers' or 'reveals') and 'college skills' when referring to children. While the meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To achieve a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and varying your word choices to avoid repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Some individuals finds', 'children finds'), incorrect verb forms ('are tend to show'), and article usage. While these errors do not completely obscure the meaning, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules such as pluralization and verb tense consistency. Incorporating a wider variety of complex sentence structures with greater accuracy would also help to improve your score in this criterion.
