Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's fast paced world, every parent wants the best for their child. But every parent's believe is different, some wants their child to be in class where everyone is good in academic and some believe that diverse ability students are best for the child's growth. In my opinion, the child will grow better if their are students with different ability and skill pattern.

Firstly, the child will grow better if he/she surrounded by the children who has different capacity ,ability and skills. Their learning patterns are different so does their knowledge. For example, if a student is good in mathematics and the other child is not. Then the student who is facing challenges can get help by the person who is brilliant in mathematics. A student will be a good teacher then a teacher itself because they know that which method will be suitable for them.

Secondly, If their is a class where every child is a topper and too good in academics. There might be possibility that the child get good score but at some point the knowledge will get stop because everyone's learning is same and there is no more to learn instead academics. Academic is one part of the knowledge but their are other domains also which are useful as the part of knowledge.

In the conclusion, the class where every child is different and has its own ability of learning and has their own skills is the best for the child to learn. The child will grow better if there is diversity in the environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that diverse classrooms allow for peer-to-peer support, the explanation of the opposing view—that homogeneous classes might limit knowledge—is slightly underdeveloped and repetitive. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the potential benefits of ability grouping (e.g., tailored instruction or faster pacing) more thoroughly before refuting them. The conclusion is brief but effectively restates your position. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of analysis could be improved to move beyond general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In the conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'their' instead of 'there'). The transition between the two viewpoints could be smoother. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly relates to the prompt's requirements.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple terms like 'good' and 'best' repeatedly. There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'every parent's believe' (should be 'belief') and 'knowledge will get stop' (should be 'stagnate' or 'cease to grow'). To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition. Expanding your repertoire of topic-specific vocabulary related to education would significantly enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some wants' instead of 'some want'), incorrect use of 'there/their' (e.g., 'if their is a class'), and missing articles. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and homophones, and aim to incorporate more complex sentence structures with greater precision.
