Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is irrefutable that in the pluralisitic world many people say that children learn better when they are placed in classes with other classmates of similar academic abilities. However, A part of society believes that when they are in classes with children representing a diverse range of academic abilities. This essay will touch upon both views given and emphasize why I personally reckon that when students are put together with other classmates of the same academic standard they most perform better .
There are several supportive points that why people deem that children perform better at a higher level when their peers are at the same level .
The underlying reason behind this phenomenon is that children feel comfortable in this environment when they get to know that other students have the same academic ability. To add to this, Children with similar talents are less apprehensive while and feel free to ask questions without hesitation, and they also feel increased self-esteem due to the comfort zone. In addition to this , due to this students students collaborate smoothly, which leads development in their brain and they get ideas. For instance, in Japan pupils with similar abilities learn faster , and feel more comfortable in classrooms.
There are multifarious reasons why other section of society believe that Children should be placed within diverse students. First predominant reason behind this approach is that it will help them to do competition and to explore variety of ideas and concepts. Scholars with different skills create an effective competitive atmosphere that uplifts students creativity and level of study as well as creates opportunities to learn various ideas. For example, students with different skills have different concepts so other student can learn those concepts and gain knowledge.
In my opinion, children with different skills should be placed in the same classroom because it will help for healthy competition and they will get other knowledge.
To conclude, although Children with same ability help them to collaborate quite quickly, yet Children with different abilities are beneficial for their health competition.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The arguments regarding similar ability grouping are repetitive, focusing mainly on 'comfort' and 'self-esteem'. The second body paragraph regarding diverse ability grouping is better supported but remains somewhat superficial. The introduction contains a sentence fragment ('However, A part of society believes that when they are in classes with children representing a diverse range of academic abilities'), which leaves the reader waiting for a completion of the thought. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To add to this', 'In addition to this', and 'First predominant reason'. However, some of these are used mechanically or are slightly awkward, such as 'There are several supportive points that why people deem'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between sentences sometimes feels abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints, which helps the reader follow the argument, but the overall flow could be improved with more sophisticated linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common items like 'irrefutable', 'pluralistic', 'apprehensive', and 'multifarious'. However, there are issues with collocation and word choice, such as 'do competition' (instead of 'compete' or 'engage in competition') and 'get other knowledge'. Some phrasing is repetitive, particularly the use of 'children' and 'students'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision in word choice and the occasional awkward phrasing limit the score. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the message but lacks the flexibility and natural control required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Children with similar talents are less apprehensive while and feel free'), punctuation errors (unnecessary spaces before commas), and sentence fragments. Some sentences are clunky, such as 'The underlying reason behind this phenomenon is that children feel comfortable in this environment when they get to know that other students have the same academic ability.' While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing.
