Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, most of the individuals believe that, learning at the same level of academic ability is a wonderful way for children to perform better. However, a few of them claim that attending classes with a different range of academic levels can help learners understand better. In the upcoming paragraphs, I will discuss both views along with my perspective.
On the one hand, there are those who believe that if all the children are at the same level, then teachers can save their time. As everyone can easily understand, they do not have to pay extra attention to anyone. Moreover, if all of them are at the same level, then they can learn more things as compared to others.
On the other hand, people consider that, if all the students have different abilities to learn and understand, then it is more fruitful for them. As they believe that some teens might have more learning power or they may have more IQ then it create positive environment in the classroom. To cite an example, a survey was conducted by school principals in Britain revealed that 35% of weak students learn better from their classmates instead of learning from the teacher. Therefore, some of the school over their start making separate sections in the school with mix performance of children.
I believe, there should be a mix of all ranges of learners under one roof. This is due to the fact that they can perform better and understand better.
In conclusion, although academic abilities depend on understanding and parents' hard work or the time that they give to their children. In my opinion, it is the responsibility of teachers to enroll students with different abilities so that they can perform better.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The arguments for ability-based grouping are quite brief, and the explanation of why mixed-ability classes are beneficial lacks depth. While you provide an example regarding a survey in Britain, the connection to the argument is slightly disjointed. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your reasoning by explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims, ensuring that each paragraph provides a more thorough exploration of the topic rather than just stating the points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure of your argument. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'some of the school over their start making separate sections'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'academic abilities' and 'mixed-ability classes'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'learning power' and 'mix performance of children'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with article usage ('a different range'), subject-verb agreement ('some of the school over their start'), and awkward sentence construction ('if all of them are at the same level, then they can learn more things as compared to others'). These errors do not typically impede communication, but they do indicate a need for more consistent control over complex structures and punctuation to reach a higher band.
