Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the modern era, learning ability of kids has been developed using new study techniques in schools. Many people argue that students can learn better with children of same education level while others believe that students with different academic levels should study in one class. According to my opinion, pupils' classes should divided as per their academic levels. I will discuss both point of views as well as my opinion in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, supporters of studying together in one class with different academic levels have many valid reasons. One of the main reasons is opportunity to gaining more knowledge. To elaborate, childrens can grab wide range of knowledge with other levels of students. For example, they can read and learn upcoming syllabus, and it is possible put them in advance. Furthermore, sholars can swap books and their home work with other students. In this way, they can enhance their learning abilities.
On the other hand, students are learning properly, and get more constrate on study who have classmate of same academic level. To extend it, they have no confusion regarding their syllabus as well as paperwork. For instance, they are focusing on study instead of talking each other. Moreover, they can make friends of same ages, and feel more comfartable.
In conclusion, classes of same students have more advantages to studying with difdferent students.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views regarding ability grouping and mixed-ability classes, and states a clear position in the introduction that pupils classes should be divided as per their academic levels. However, the ideas remain underdeveloped and repetitive, lacking substantive supporting evidence or examples. Furthermore, the length requirement has not been met: the response contains only 229 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum. This negative impact on task completion pulls the band down into the lower range. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the lack of thorough development and the under-length penalty restrict the score to a Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into five paragraphs, including a brief introduction and conclusion, demonstrating an attempt at paragraphing. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by abrupt transitions and underdeveloped body paragraphs. Cohesive devices are minimal, repetitive, or inaccurately used, such as 'To extend it' and 'To elaborate,' which do not naturally connect the ideas. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making the flow somewhat mechanical. Despite these structural flaws, there is a recognisable overarching layout and some basic sequencing of viewpoints, which justifies a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a limited and repetitive range of vocabulary, such as 'learning ability,' 'academic level,' and 'syllabus.' There are numerous spelling and word-choice errors, including 'childrens,' 'sholars,' 'constraite' (concreate), and 'comfartable.' These lexical inaccuracies and restricted choices cause some difficulty for the reader and reveal an inadequate range for flexible expression. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic topic of education, the frequency of errors places this firmly in the Band 5.0 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures alongside frequent faulty attempts at complex sentences. There are notable grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'learning ability of kids has been developed,' 'pupils' classes should divided,' and 'instead of talking each other.' Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent. These frequent errors cause strain for the reader and demonstrate only a limited control over basic grammatical structures, aligning with the descriptors for Band 5.0.
