Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on student streaming and stating a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas remains quite limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on similar academic abilities relies on vague statements such as 'children can easily make friends' and 'encouraging each other.' The arguments lack concrete elaboration or deep extension, which places the response securely in the Band 5 category. The position is stated, but the ideas are not fully explored or supported with rich details.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

Paragraphing is attempted, with distinct sections for the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, though some paragraphs are initiated with non-standard transitions like 'As per others' and 'In my view point'. The progression of ideas is disjointed at times, and cohesive devices are repetitive or awkward, such as starting multiple sentences and clauses with 'because' or 'as'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical flow between sentences is disrupted by mechanical transitions and frequent punctuation issues.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently reusing terms from the prompt such as 'academic abilities', 'diverse range', and 'children learn better'. There are numerous word choice and spelling errors, such as 'while other believe', 'childs academic performance', 'encourging', 'childer cna esaily', 'genrate', 'cretivity', and 'invloving'. Although the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the general message, these persistent inaccuracies and limited range restrict the score to Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response shows a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences or faulty attempts at complex clauses. There are frequent, intrusive errors in punctuation, capitalization, and sentence boundaries, such as missing capital letters after full stops, incomplete clauses, and fragments like 'As per others ,that children could learn better way'. Errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage are widespread, which frequently causes difficulty for the reader and prevents the writing from reaching a higher band.
