Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that younger generation would perform better when the share space in classes with comparable study ability while others believe that kids will perform better with differ ability of knowledge in classroom. Although, both sides have valid arguments. I believe teenagers with vivid study ability in same class would perform better beacuse of wide scope. This esaay will discuss both views before reaching to a reasoned conclusion.

On the one hand, A considerable proportion of individuals argued that kids will perform better with students that carry the similar ability. This is primarily because of the comparing attitude of citizens. Several individuals compare their kids with others in terms of study, sports etc. when the child will not be able to achieve their expectation, due to which the parents put more pressure on teens to work hard then before. For instance, a condiderable number of kids are committing suicide because their guardians put a lot of pressure on them to get better in their field. Consequently, childerns will get demotivated and depressed in there work and will not perform better.

On the other hand, Supporters of differ perspective argued that students will perform better with kids who has different ability of study. This is largely because of better understanding and wide scope of learning for the kids. When they compare themself with better performer it will inspire them to study hard and grow by themself in terms of study and sports. ultimately, It will help them to get along with better students and learn more about their academic knowledge.

In conclusion, Individuals who believe students will perform better with the similar students have several consequences as demotivation and depression in teens. while people who argued that kids will give their best while doing study with students who has different ability of study has considerable benefits as all over growth and better understanding. I belive students with different ability will be going to do best in their life

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—ability grouping and mixed-ability classes—and provides a clear position stating the writer's preference for mixed-ability learning. The ideas are relevant, such as discussing the psychological pressure of streaming versus the inspirational benefits of diverse classrooms. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the argument regarding peer pressure and suicide is extreme and lacks balanced support. The introduction and conclusion state the position adequately, but overall, the task is addressed with some under-developed arguments, aligning best with a Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with standard organizational markers such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical due to repetitive structures and vague referencing. For instance, pronouns like 'they' and 'them' often lack clear antecedents, creating ambiguity regarding whether the writer is referring to parents, children, or better performers. Additionally, transitional phrases are sometimes awkward, such as 'before reaching to a reasoned conclusion'. These issues place the response firmly in the Band 6 category.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student attempts a range of vocabulary appropriate for the task, including phrases like 'comparable study ability', 'psychological pressure', and 'overall growth'. However, there are numerous word-choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'share space' instead of 'share a space', 'vivid study ability' instead of 'diverse academic abilities', and 'differ perspective' instead of 'different perspective'. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'esaay', 'beacuse', 'condiderable', and 'childerns'. While the meaning is generally communicated despite these flaws, the frequency of lexical inaccuracies prevents the response from achieving a higher band, making Band 5.0 a fair representation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as conditional and dependent clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and prepositions. Examples include 'younger generation would perform better when the share space', 'when the child will not be able', and 'students who has different ability'. Punctuation is also problematic, notably with sentence fragments and comma splices, such as starting a sentence with 'Although, both sides have valid arguments.' Because the errors are frequent and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, the response corresponds to a Band 5 descriptor.
