Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often believed that learners learn better if they are placed in classes with children of same academic performance. However, others think that pupils learn great when they are in classes with symbolize a mixed range of academic abilities. This essay will discuss both the views and my opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.

To beign with the first view, teachers can focus on students need. To explain it, sometimes many advanced learners demand to learn about some difficult questions however, many weak students do not able to learn the same syllabus. Moreoever, average learners can also increase their self confidence, if they are placed with same academic performers. For example, weak students will encourage to answer the questions without any pressure. As a result, similar academic abilities are more important in order to gain average students confiedence.

On the other hand, children can learn from each others. In other words, wide range of weak learners usually learn many things. When the both students spend quality of time togeather. In tandem with this, mixed ability learners oftenly cooperate with each others in order to make either group presentations or projects. For instance, diverse range of children contribute to make this assignemts according to their abilities. Thus, diverse range of academic abilities are more crucital for weak students developments.

In conclusion, although, many people assume that mixed classes are more useful for team work and social skills. Yet, I believed that simlar academic ability is more important to build weak students confidence and performance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a preference for grouping students with similar abilities, so the response is relevant to the task. The discussion of similar-ability classes includes a reason—teachers can focus on students’ needs—and an example about weaker learners answering without pressure. The mixed-class argument is also identified, but its benefits are less clearly explained, and the conclusion introduces teamwork and social skills without developing them in the body. Your position is present, though the final contrast beginning “although” and “Yet” makes it less direct. The response is 245 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the prompt are excluded. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help distinguish the sections. However, some linking is mechanical or unclear. For example, “When the both students spend quality of time together” is a fragment, while “In tandem with this” does not clearly show how the next point relates to the previous one. The conclusion’s “although … Yet” construction also creates an awkward relationship between ideas. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each sentence through clear cause-and-effect or example relationships; ensure every paragraph develops one central point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to education, including “academic performance,” “self confidence,” “syllabus,” and “group presentations.” These choices help communicate the topic, but the range is limited and several word-choice or collocation errors make parts difficult to understand. For instance, “classes with symbolize a mixed range” does not express the intended idea naturally, and “weak students developments” is unclear. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “beign,” “Moreoever,” “confiedence,” and “assignemts.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “mixed-ability classes” and “students’ development,” and proofread spelling. Replacing repeated general terms like “learn” and “important” with precise alternatives would also make the discussion more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if they are placed with same academic performers” and a contrast introduced by “although.” However, the range is limited, and errors recur in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, and articles. “Teachers can focus on students need” needs a possessive form, while “weak students do not able to learn” is missing an auxiliary verb. “When the both students spend quality of time together” is an incomplete sentence, and “I believed” does not fit the present-tense opinion in the conclusion. These errors sometimes make the intended relationships harder to follow. Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb patterns, articles, and tense consistency before adding more complex clauses.
