Student answer (Band 6.0)

Learning is inseparable part of life. Some arguement about pupils learn well when they are surrounded by peers with same academic skills whereas some believe children learns better with kids representing distinct range of abilities. In this essay, I will throw some light on both views with my relevant opnion on later viewpoint.

On the one hand, it is undoubted that children excel better with similar qualities peers because this approach gives students to grasps more qualites from peer ones. In more detail, If one child is lacking in specific subject, others will definete share their knowledge. As a result, it generates more competition among them and every child studies hard to be on the top within similar academics.

On the other hand, Children not only gain diversified knowledge but also learns distinct qualities, skills and creativity amongst the class. Additionally, children will be able to present themselves differently from every angle. Although they will focus on academics skills, they will also know how to perform well in other areas like, arsts, challenging questions, music etcetera.Universally it is proven that none child acts same for any situation, therefore, in class experiments, they will be kept with other children from whom they can grabs ideas, different techniques to complete it.

In my opinion, Same academic group only takes child towards competition, whereas, different acadamic abilities make child tend to know about techniques, skills, behaviors, approaches and more.

To conclude, similar academic abilities creates staganant performance for students. But different group will make fit for learning and helping the peer ones in tasks in school and laer life. Hence, schools should promote education based on mixed academics performance to decrease the complexity of competition and inferiority among children.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear preference for mixed-ability classes, especially in the final two paragraphs. The discussion of similar-ability grouping identifies peer learning and competition, while the mixed-ability section adds exposure to different skills and approaches. These are relevant points, but some are asserted rather than explained: for example, the claim that similar groups create competition is not supported with a concrete illustration, and the benefits of mixed classes move between academic learning and arts without showing how these outcomes connect. Develop each main reason with a specific example and explain its effect on learning. This would make the response more balanced and fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” makes the progression easy to follow, and the reader can identify your position. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, links within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear—for instance, the move from academic skills to “arts” and music is abrupt. Some references, such as “they” and “it” in the class-experiment sentence, are also unclear. Use more precise links and make each paragraph develop one central point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of vocabulary relevant to education, including “academic abilities,” “competition,” “diversified knowledge,” and “inferiority.” There are also efforts to use less common expressions, but inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear. Examples include “throw some light,” “grasps more qualities from peer ones,” and “stagnant performance”; these do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “arguement,” “opnion,” and “acadamic” further reduce precision. Build a reliable set of education-related collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More accurate, natural phrasing would improve clarity without requiring more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional sentence (“If one child is lacking in specific subject, others will…”) and a concession beginning “Although.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “children learns” should be “children learn,” while “similar academic abilities creates” needs a plural verb. The sentence beginning “Although they will focus…” is also incomplete because the dependent clause is not properly connected to a main clause. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the general meaning is usually recoverable. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and ensure every complex sentence has a complete main clause.
