Student answer (Band 4.5)

Some people think that children learn more better when they are placed in classes with children of same cognitive skills. When gave same topic or same activity then they learn better. On other hand , some people believe that children learn better when they are in classes with children representing a change academic abilities.

Actually, Some people believe that children gain more better knowledge and information. While they are placed in classes with other children of same activities. For example one year ago I went to school for teaching. I taught to nursery class. When I gave a same task to every students. They complete immediately and easily. Because they interested to learn together. For instance, when school watch stories and reading books on TV at a same time. All children see together. They learn a lot of things easily. Currently, mostly educator provide same courses in same times.

Secondly, Some individuals assume that children learn better when we gave alternative opportunities. When provide the different topics. You can't complete your task easily and quickly. You can't share your ideas to classmates. Because your topic will be changed. So this creates problematic situation for children.

Finally, I think school teacher should provide same authorities. They should gave them same courses title because while they learn to same cognitive skills. They are help to each other. This is very easy to learning with class fellows. It is also very helpful. So children should learn same things at same time. They can pick up easily. So this is very useful for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear preference for grouping children with similar abilities, and you include a personal classroom example to support this view. However, the discussion of mixed-ability classes is not fully explained: the claim that different topics prevent children from sharing ideas does not clearly address how students of varied academic abilities might learn from one another. The response therefore addresses the task only minimally, with ideas that are limited and under-developed. The conclusion repeats your preference but does not add a developed reason. Also, the response contains 233 words, so it is 17 words below the required minimum; the 26 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop both sides with relevant, specific explanations and examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

Your response has a basic overall shape, moving from an introduction to supporting paragraphs and a final opinion. Connectors such as “On other hand,” “Secondly,” and “Finally” signal some relationships between points. However, ideas are not arranged coherently within this structure: the first supporting paragraph shifts from a teaching anecdote to watching stories on TV and then to educators providing courses, without showing how these points connect. The paragraph about mixed abilities also repeats “you can’t” rather than developing a clear sequence of reasons. Some references, such as “same authorities,” are difficult to follow. To improve progression, give each paragraph one main point, explain it in order, and use clear references and transitions between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “cognitive skills,” “academic abilities,” “classmates,” and “educator,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with “same,” “learn,” and “better” appearing frequently. Several word choices or combinations are unclear or unnatural, such as “change academic abilities,” “same authorities,” and “same courses title.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to understand, which is consistent with a limited vocabulary range and noticeable errors. Aim for precise terms that distinguish ability grouping from mixed-ability grouping, and vary repeated words with suitable alternatives. Check collocations as well as individual word meanings.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “Because they interested to learn together.” However, the range of sentence structures is very limited, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes distort meaning. Examples include “When gave same topic,” “They complete immediately,” and “They are help to each other.” Some fragments beginning with “Because” are not joined to a complete sentence, while punctuation and capitalization are inconsistent. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and correctly inflected verb, and review past-tense forms for the teaching anecdote. Building accurate simple sentences first will make it easier to add complex structures clearly.
