Student answer (Band 5.5)

Education is essential need for every human. In my opinion both views holds important roles to children learning.Few people trust that children learn better when they are in a place with same academic abilities. On the other hand, some people believe that children learn better when they are with children with a developed range of academic abilities.

Initially, some people prefer same ability children in one class because teacher can teach at an appropriate pace. For example, teacher can teach in same to every student if they are weak in studies teachers can know everyones abilities of learning and they can provide proper care and support to develop students focus. Moreover, another reason is it prevent strong students hold back for weak students. For instance, educators can educate students with advance knowledge with high level education and they can also help low level of learning skill students with their level.Furthermore, weaker students can get more attentions and they can receive more focused support.

On the other side,Few people think children can leartn betterwhen they are with students beyond there academic abilities as students with stronger academic abilities they can help weak students. For example, weak students will set back in their academic performance but if stronger students who have more knowledge help them they can do well in there academic life. Moreover, another reason might be to creat a more inclusive and realestic learning environment because in jobs or career options every persons abilities are not same if they learn from their younger ages how to deal with people with high abilities than them it will help them to cooperate in there future.

In my opinion,I would support mixed-abilities classes because students can learn from each other and there communicatioin skills will be increase day by day. Moreover,it will help students to build more relations in academic life and social life. However, every teacher should provide more attention toward the students who got low skills and who are struggling with their studies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views and give a clear preference for mixed-ability classes, so the response addresses the main parts of the task. The first view is supported with relevant points about teaching at an appropriate pace and giving weaker learners focused support; the second includes peer help and preparation for working with people of different abilities. However, several explanations remain general or unclear. For example, the claim that stronger students may be “hold back” is not fully explained, and the point about future careers would benefit from a specific example showing how mixed classes build cooperation. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or illustration, and make the comparison between the two approaches more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to track, and linking expressions are repetitive or awkward, including “Moreover, another reason” and “On the other side.” Some ideas are joined without a clear relationship, particularly the discussion of stronger students helping weaker ones and the later point about career options. Use more precise transitions, organise each paragraph around one main reason, and ensure that pronouns such as “they” clearly refer to the intended group. This would make the argument more consistently connected.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “academic abilities,” “inclusive,” “focused support,” and “cooperate,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the response less clear or natural. Examples include “developed range” for a range of abilities, “more attentions,” and “realestic learning environment.” There are also misspellings such as “leartn” and “communicatioin.” Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing ability grouping and peer learning, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help express your ideas without relying on repeated general terms such as “students” and “help.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “if,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the longer constructions are often faulty, and errors occur frequently in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. For example, “both views holds” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “their communicatioin skills will be increase” uses an incorrect verb form. Missing spaces after punctuation and comma splices also make some sentences harder to read. Practise building complex sentences with one clear main clause and check agreement and verb patterns. Greater control of these frequent structures is needed for the ideas to come across smoothly.
