Student answer (Band 4.5)
It is often claimed that setting arrangments in classes, directly impact on the learning process of children. While some argue that pupils learn more who attend the lectures with students akin in education standards, others
believe that they aquire more knowledge if their classmates have different academic abilities. In my opinion, students understand the lessons more effortlessly in the classes where students have same level of knowledge, because they feel more comfortable in that learning environment.
Those who favour former notion, myself included, maintain that students learn more in this type classroom sitting because they feel more comfortable. Since every one have equal level of knowledge, which elimanate the feeling of compition and failure. This relaxed mindset helps them to focus more on the actual class lesson, rather than the fear of failure, which ultimately result in better academic results. Thus it is clear, that learning become more enjoyable if students feel more confident with peer, who have level of knowledge.
Proponent of former statement more convienced that if children
In conclution, both classroom settings have their own benefits. From my perspective, if

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You state a clear preference for grouping pupils with similar academic knowledge and give a relevant reason: they may feel more comfortable and less afraid of failure. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the opposing view is only mentioned in the introduction; it is not explained or supported. The second body paragraph ends mid-sentence, and the conclusion is also unfinished, so your position and discussion are not brought to a complete close. The response is 183 words, below the required 250, which leaves too little space to develop the ideas. To improve, explain a benefit of mixed-ability classes, support both sides with examples, and complete your conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is an identifiable introduction and a body paragraph, and phrases such as “While some argue” and “In my opinion” help signal the topic and your position. However, the response does not progress through a complete discussion: the paragraph beginning “Proponent of former statement” stops abruptly, and the conclusion ends after “From my perspective, if”. This makes the overall organisation incomplete and leaves the reader without a final summary. Some links are also unclear, as in “Since every one have equal level of knowledge, which…” where the relationship between the ideas is not smoothly expressed. Use one paragraph for each view, connect each reason to its explanation, and finish with a complete conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “learning process”, “academic abilities”, “learning environment” and “academic results”. These choices show that you can discuss the subject beyond very basic terms. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “arrangments”, “aquire”, “elimanate” and “compition”. Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “students akin in education standards” and “classroom sitting”. The repeated use of “students” and “knowledge” limits variety. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, “students with similar academic levels” is clearer than “students akin in education standards”.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in the introduction (“While some argue…”) and a reason clause beginning “because”. However, errors in agreement, sentence construction and punctuation are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “every one have equal level” needs a plural subject with a matching verb, and “Since every one have equal level of knowledge, which…” is an incomplete sentence because the dependent clause is not joined to a main clause. In “which ultimately result”, the verb does not agree with its subject. Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation before submitting.
