Student answer (Band 5.5)
Children are the foundation of our nation. Few person believes that children learn more in classes when they are sitting with those who has similar academic abilities. Another people think that students learn better when they representing a diverse range of academic abilities in the same classes. I am going to discuss both views in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, it says that children learn better with the similar academic abilities because they feel confident with them. To site an example, if the child places with other child who has same skills , he will not feel any hestitation as well as lack of confidence to talk with him. As a result, they can perform all the tasks and will learn better in class.
On the other hand, some thinks that the better way to enhance the learning capacity of children by representing a diverse range of academic abilities in the classes. It is beneficial of those children who actively learn new thing from them. When they sit together in the same class, they will observe very well and adapt the skills. Therefore, the academic abilities will increased more in thier daily life. Secondly, children feel more energetic to perform various competitions. They want to participate in different skills competitons to ehnace their abilitiy levels. Thus, it helps children to fulfil their dreams and become succesful in future carrers.
In conclusion, some argue that children become more successfull in academics if they place in classes with diverse range of academic abilties rather than the similar abilties. According to my opinion, I feel that children will adapt more in sitting with the different abilties of students. as compared to the same academic abilties.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both positions and give a clear preference for mixed-ability classes, especially in the conclusion: “children will adapt more” when learning alongside students with different abilities. The two body paragraphs also offer relevant reasons—confidence among similar-ability peers and learning by observing classmates with varied abilities. However, these points are only briefly explained. For example, the claim that similar-ability pupils “can perform all the tasks” is not supported with a specific explanation, and the benefits of mixed classes are asserted rather than illustrated. The discussion therefore addresses the task, but some ideas remain limited or unclear. Develop each reason with a concrete classroom example and explain how it improves learning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion, and the ideas generally follow a sensible order. However, some links are mechanical, and connections within paragraphs are not always clear. For instance, the move from observing classmates to participating in competitions is abrupt, and “Secondly” introduces a point whose relationship to the previous explanation could be made clearer. The conclusion repeats the preference but does not fully synthesise the discussion. Use clearer links between each reason and its consequence, and ensure each paragraph develops one central line of thought.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “academic abilities,” “confidence,” “adapt the skills,” and “participate.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less natural. Examples include “Few person believes,” “lack of confidence to talk,” and “enhance the learning capacity”; “competitions” is also repeated in a way that does not clearly express the intended academic benefit. Spelling errors such as “hestitation,” “thier,” and “succesful” further reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range of education-related expressions and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentences, using clauses such as “because they feel confident” and “When they sit together in the same class.” This gives the response some structural variety, but control is inconsistent and errors occur frequently. Examples include “Few person believes,” “those who has similar academic abilities,” and “the academic abilities will increased,” which show problems with agreement and verb forms. In “some thinks that the better way…,” the sentence structure is incomplete, while the final sentence begins “as compared” with an inappropriate lowercase start and fragment-like construction. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete sentence patterns, and verb forms before adding more complex clauses.
