Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You address both views and state a clear preference in the conclusion: children should study in mixed-ability classes. The points about less confident pupils feeling uncomfortable and learning from stronger classmates are relevant. However, the discussion is brief and the reasons are only lightly explained; for example, you say mixed classes help students gain knowledge, but do not show specifically how this happens or give a concrete example. The explanation of ability grouping is also general, and the claim that it is easier for teachers is not developed. The response is three words below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. Develop each view with a fuller explanation and a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting the contrasting views, and a conclusion. Sequencers such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “in Conclusion” help readers follow the basic order. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are joined mechanically with “so” or “and” rather than showing their precise relationship. For instance, the point about future work and business appears in the mixed-ability paragraph but is not clearly connected to learning alongside classmates. Some references, such as “they” and “them,” could be clearer about which students or teachers are meant. Build each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary relevant to education, including “academic abilities,” “uncomfortable,” “intelligent,” and “future.” This is enough to communicate the main contrast, but the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “important,” “learn,” “children,” and “good.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “same level of children,” “same ability of children,” and “get knwledge”; these make parts of the discussion less clear or polished. Spelling and word form also need attention, including “knwledge” and “mix ability.” Aim to use more precise terms for the two class types and vary repeated vocabulary while keeping collocations natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and some longer structures, including “when they study with wise and intelligent students, they learn more.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but control is uneven. Errors include subject–verb agreement in “some people says,” missing or incorrect articles and plurals in “all the student,” and faulty sentence construction in “If you achieve goal and make a good life so, study is very important.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, with sentence starts such as “it is also easy” and “in Conclusion” handled incorrectly. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses; check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
