Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era, good education plays a crucial role to nurture children's better future. Some individuals think children perform good with similar learning abilities. whereas, others believe that for good academic growth they should be placed with students who have different abilities. The essay shall discuss both the notions and represent the opinion.
On the one hand, when children have the same academic potential, they can easily understand each other's ideas. Moreover, they always agree with decisions as a result chances of happening conflicts could be minimal. Additionally, bond between them will be strong. Hence, they might share their feelings and emotions with each other.
On the other hand, there are plethora of factors why some humans are in the favour of opposite.
First, when children are placed with different learning strength, they will have chance to learn so many new different things. Cosequently, it will not only boost their academic growth but will also enhance mental strength. Furthermore, making respectful argument with same thought can also be good for strong bonding as thet share their ideas with different perspectives. For an instace, in my 12th class, I met students with diverse abilities which was very fruitfull for me and I could able to get 95 percent.
To conclude, although, learning with same educational background can be good at some stages, I strongly believe that leaarning with students with different abilities could be more beneficial for their personal and academic growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state a clear preference for mixed-ability classes in the conclusion. The example from your 12th-class experience, including your result, also gives the discussion some personal support. However, the reasons are only briefly explained: for example, you say similar-ability pupils “can easily understand each other's ideas” and may have fewer conflicts, but do not show how this improves learning. The benefits of mixed classes are also broad rather than fully developed. The response is 242 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum. Develop each view with a specific explanation or example, and make the link between your reasons and children’s learning more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” helps readers follow the main stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose. In the first body paragraph, the points about agreement, fewer conflicts, and a strong bond are listed without clearly connecting them to academic learning. Some linking is also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Moreover,” “Additionally,” and “Furthermore.” Improve cohesion by explaining how each point follows from the previous one and by using clearer references between ideas, rather than relying mainly on transition phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “academic potential,” “academic growth,” “diverse abilities,” and “different perspectives,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “plays a crucial role” and “personal and academic growth.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, including “perform good,” “plethora of factors,” “respectful argument with same thought,” and “fruitfull.” Spelling errors such as “Cosequently,” “instace,” and “leaarning” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise phrases that fit the context, and proofread spelling; for instance, describe students as “performing well” and explain that they exchange ideas from different perspectives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, using clauses with “when,” “as a result,” and “although.” Most of the main ideas remain understandable, but errors recur in sentence boundaries, articles, agreement, and verb patterns. For example, “whereas” begins a new sentence after a full stop and should be capitalised; “bond between them” needs an article; and “I could able to get” has an incorrect verb construction. The conclusion also has awkward punctuation around “although.” These issues make some sentences less controlled, even though the overall message can be followed. Practise checking each sentence for a complete clause, correct verb form, and appropriate articles, while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
