Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several important patterns, including the sharp rise in table tennis, the decline in amateur dramatics, and the relative stability of the film club. However, the overview is incomplete, and some details are inaccurate or unclear: table tennis reaches about 54 participants in 2020, not almost 60, while martial arts fluctuates around the mid-30s and peaks at about 38 in 2010. The statement that table tennis “overtook” amateur dramatics and martial arts does not specify when, and the final sentence about the film club is unfinished. To make the response more complete, give a clear overview of the main contrasts and report the key figures accurately for all five activities.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, an overview and paragraphs describing trends. The response also uses some sequencing language, such as “In the beginning” and “after 2005.” However, progression is weakened by unclear links and abrupt or incomplete statements. For example, “Where as flim clud remain almost at steady pace” is detached from the overview, and the final “Flim clud maintain s” leaves the response unfinished. Several trends are crowded into one paragraph, making comparisons difficult to follow. Organise the details into clearer groups—for example, rising activities and declining or stable ones—and use linking phrases to show how the series compare.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a useful range of trend vocabulary, including “surge,” “surpassed,” “reaching,” “reduce massively” and “fluctuation,” so the main changes are generally understandable. However, spelling errors are frequent and sometimes make the text harder to read, as in “dowmward,” “rapidely,” “amature,” and “flim clud.” Some word combinations are also imprecise: “amount of individuals” is less suitable for participant counts, and “touched almost about 60” is awkward and redundant. Choose accurate, conventional chart language and check spelling carefully. For example, use “number of participants,” “rose sharply to,” and “fell to around six” to describe the data more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and more extended sentences, but control is inconsistent, particularly when describing time periods and changes. Examples include “between the period 2000 to 2020,” “musical performances has 0 number,” and “after 2005 it start growing,” where prepositions, verb forms and sentence structure are faulty. The sentence beginning “Where as” is also not properly connected to the preceding overview, and the final clause is incomplete. These errors sometimes make relationships between events unclear. Practise forming complete sentences with consistent past-tense verbs, such as “The number rose after 2005,” and use accurate patterns such as “between 2000 and 2020.”
