Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the five activities and give a relevant overview, noting that film club remained the leading activity and table tennis rose strongly. However, the report is incomplete and several details are inaccurate or unclear: film club is described as having “60 to 70” participants, rather than reporting its broadly stable level around the low-to-mid 60s; the table-tennis rise is not clearly traced from 2010, when it was about 20, to 54 in 2020. The account of musical performances also incorrectly says they began rising from 2005, although participation remained at zero until 2010. Amateur dramatics, which fell substantially to about 6, is omitted. The response is 17 words below the required minimum. Add accurate comparisons and key figures to develop the summary.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic structure: an opening sentence, an overview, and further comments on individual activities. This gives the reader some sense of the report’s purpose, and “Overall” signals a summary. However, progression is limited because the details are presented as short, disconnected statements rather than grouped into clear comparisons. The film-club and table-tennis comments repeat the overview, while the final fragment, “the”, leaves the response unfinished. Some links between ideas are also unclear, particularly in the sentence about martial arts. Organise the body into paragraphs that compare the main rising, falling, and relatively stable trends, and use clear references to connect each point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “participants,” “fluctuations,” “decline,” and “surge,” which helps communicate broad trends. There is also an attempt to vary wording rather than repeat only “increase” and “decrease.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a graph: “digits of persons,” “took the lead,” “mid era,” and “hit the upward direction” make the report less precise. “The table” is also an unsuitable reference to the table-tennis series. Spelling and word-form errors such as “depicits” and “continously” are noticeable. Prefer standard chart language such as “number of participants,” “remained the most popular,” and “rose steadily,” and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. For example, “The film club have 60 to 70 participants” has subject–verb disagreement and an unclear tense, while “The musical performance which was 0 at 2000 starts rising” has problems with tense, article use, and sentence construction. The opening also needs more accurate grammatical patterns for location and time. Punctuation is uneven: there is no space after the full stop in “era. The,” and the response ends with an incomplete fragment. Use past-tense forms consistently for the historical period and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
