Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main trends for each activity. However, the report is overly descriptive, listing data points for each year rather than synthesising the information into clear, comparative trends. While you have included an overview, it is somewhat limited in its analysis of the overall relationships between the categories. To reach a higher band, focus more on grouping the activities by their performance (e.g., those that increased vs. those that declined) rather than providing a chronological list for every single category, which makes the report feel repetitive and mechanical.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is organised into paragraphs, but the internal structure of the body paragraphs is repetitive. You rely heavily on a 'year-by-year' approach, which hinders the flow of the information. While you use some cohesive devices like 'In conclusion' and 'after this', the transitions between sentences are often mechanical. The progression of ideas is clear, but the lack of varied linking words makes the text feel like a list of facts rather than a cohesive report. Improving the use of referencing and varied cohesive devices would help the ideas flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive. You frequently use phrases like 'near to' and 'records', which limits the precision of your report. There are also minor spelling errors, such as 'agter' instead of 'after', 'ammature' instead of 'amateur', and 'partcipants'. To improve, try to incorporate a wider range of verbs to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'stabilised', 'plummeted', or 'experienced a steady growth'. Using more varied vocabulary will help you demonstrate a higher level of lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. For example, 'film clubs records' should be 'film clubs recorded' (subject-verb agreement and tense consistency). There are also issues with article usage and prepositions, such as 'in the year 2000' being used repeatedly where 'in 2000' would suffice. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on maintaining consistent past tense when describing historical data and proofreading for subject-verb agreement.
