Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response covers all key features of the graph, including the trends for all five activities. You have successfully identified the overall trend for the Film club as the most popular and noted the growth in Table Tennis and musical performances. However, the report could be improved by providing more precise data points to support your descriptions. For example, when mentioning that Table Tennis contributed 'more than 50 participants', referencing the specific start and end points would strengthen the analysis. The overview is clear, but ensure that comparisons between categories are consistently made throughout the body paragraphs to fully meet the requirements of a Band 7 response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'While', 'Additionally', and 'However' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the use of 'the same trend' when describing Table Tennis, which could be more clearly linked to the previous sentence. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is generally clear, making the response easy to follow throughout.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuation', 'consistently', and 'participation'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'showed a rose' (should be 'showed a rise') and 'stepped increased' (should be 'stepped increase'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the score. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure that word forms are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'number of people... participated' (should be 'participating'), 'contestants remain zero' (should be 'remained'), and 'there was a declined' (should be 'there was a decline'). These errors occur frequently but do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage, as the data covers a past period (2000–2020), requiring consistent use of the past tense.
