Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response covers all key features of the graph, including the trends for the various activities. You have successfully identified the highest and lowest participants and noted significant changes over the period. However, the report could be improved by providing more precise data points to support your descriptions. For example, when you mention that the Film club 'dipped slightly', including the specific figures would make your analysis more professional. Additionally, ensure that all comparisons are clearly linked to the data provided to avoid vague descriptions. Overall, you have addressed the task requirements well.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on specific trends. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Meanwhile', 'Similarly', and 'In addition' to connect your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. To reach a higher band, try to vary your linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through the data. The referencing is generally clear, but the structure of the final paragraph could be more cohesive.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, using terms like 'fluctuated', 'rocketed', and 'significantly'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'adjusted into a 45 members' is not natural English, and 'the lowest participants club' should be 'the club with the fewest participants'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary choices are appropriate for a formal report. While your vocabulary is adequate for the task, it lacks the precision required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. For instance, 'The Film club has remained the highest number of participants' is grammatically incorrect; it should be 'The Film club has maintained the highest number of participants'. There are also issues with article usage and prepositional phrases, such as 'in the year 2005 and 2015 with a year gap'. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of prepositions will help improve the accuracy of your writing.
