Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response covers all requirements of the task by identifying the main trends and making relevant comparisons. You successfully highlighted the stability of the film club, the growth of table tennis, and the decline of amateur dramatics. However, the overview could be more precise; for example, stating 'other activities displayed high fluctuation rate' is a bit vague. Additionally, some data points are slightly inaccurate, such as the claim that musical had no participants in 2001, which is not clearly supported by the graph. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data descriptions are precise and that the overview clearly synthesizes the most significant trends rather than just listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'On the other hand', and 'In 2005' to guide the reader through the data. However, the paragraphing is slightly unbalanced, and some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using more varied linking phrases to connect the trends more fluidly. Overall, the information is presented in a coherent manner that is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'plummeted', 'surged', and 'stagnant growth'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'high fluctuation rate' instead of 'significant fluctuations' and 'numbers' used repeatedly where 'participants' or 'figures' would be more appropriate. While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, there are occasional inaccuracies that slightly affect the precision of your report. Expanding your repertoire of reporting verbs and nouns will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'Table tennis experience the highest growth' (should be 'experienced') and 'musical' (should be 'the musical club'). You also have issues with article usage and pluralization, such as 'in the last years' and 'same as it experienced a slight fluctuations'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not impede communication. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will improve your accuracy.
