The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The line chart illustrates data regarding the number of candidates doing different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia from 2000 to 2020.

Overall, it is apparent that film club had the highest number of participants and musical performances was surged gradually in the number of people. Furthermore, while table tennis saw a progressive increase, material arts was fluctuating over the period shown.

In detail, film club was started with around 65 people in 2000 and grown by 68 till 2020 and martial arts was stabilized and had approximately 45 participants during the period. Moreover, amateur dramatics exhibited more downward trajectory, starting with 25 and 5 in the end.

For table tennis, the number of people reported increasing over the period from 25 to around 50 and musical performances started in 2005 and performed by 10 participants in 2010 and increased to 15 in 2020.
