Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all five activities and made relevant comparisons, such as noting the film club's popularity and the significant growth in table tennis. However, the report could be improved by ensuring the data points are more precise. For instance, stating 'around 12' or 'almost 53' is acceptable, but ensure the comparisons between categories are consistently accurate. You have fulfilled the requirements of the task well by selecting key features and presenting them in a logical summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview paragraph, and two body paragraphs detailing the specific trends. You use cohesive devices such as 'In contrast,' 'Meanwhile,' and 'On the other hand' to guide the reader through the comparisons. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the overview from the detailed analysis. To reach a higher band, ensure that the transition between sentences is smoother, as some sentences feel slightly disjointed, particularly when moving between the different activities in the third paragraph.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Phrases like 'delineates,' 'spectacular growth,' and 'most prominent activity' show an attempt to use more sophisticated language. There are some minor issues with word choice, such as 'doubled number of participants almost around 20,' which is slightly awkward. Additionally, ensure that you use precise terminology for trends (e.g., 'upward trend' or 'plateaued'). Overall, the vocabulary is adequate for the task and allows for clear communication of the data trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. While there are some grammatical errors, such as 'the active participation of number of participants' and 'over the with an average,' these do not impede the reader's understanding. You show good control over tense usage when describing past trends. To improve, focus on eliminating minor errors in articles and prepositions, and try to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence structures to enhance the flow of your writing.
