Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the graph, identifying trends such as the growth in table tennis and the decline in amateur dramatics. However, the data reporting is often inaccurate or confusing. For example, stating the film club 'surged by 5 percent' over two decades is a misinterpretation of the data. Furthermore, the description of the martial arts and film club as 'levelled off' is not supported by the visual evidence provided. While the response attempts to highlight key trends, the lack of precision in reporting figures and the misinterpretation of the data trends prevent it from reaching a higher band. The overview is present but lacks clarity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'while taking about thebmucical performances' and 'another stricking points'. The progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logic of the comparisons. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between sentences is often abrupt. To improve, focus on using linking words more naturally and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary range is limited and contains frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'tannis' instead of 'tennis', 'filime' for 'film', 'martailarts' for 'martial arts', and 'amuateur' for 'amateur'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally impede communication. The student relies on basic descriptive language and struggles to use precise terminology for describing trends (e.g., 'lost its interest for public being flaucated'). There is little evidence of less common lexical items, and the frequent spelling mistakes suggest a need for more careful proofreading and vocabulary development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'the number of members were increased by 3percent with in next five years however the was the surge in the tennis player by 50% in 2020.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misplaced commas and periods. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are often faulty and cause difficulty for the reader. A focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors is essential.
