Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

You have identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. However, the response is incomplete as it fails to describe the data for 'amateur dramatics', 'table tennis', and 'musical performances' in the body paragraphs. The task requires you to report on all categories shown in the graph. By only detailing the 'film club' and 'martial arts', you have not fully addressed all parts of the task. To improve, ensure that every category mentioned in the introduction is supported by specific data points in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a logical flow between the introduction and the overview. You use some cohesive devices like 'Meanwhile' and 'In terms of', which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression is interrupted because the body paragraphs do not cover all the information promised in the introduction. The transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is clear, but the lack of detail for the remaining activities makes the overall cohesion feel incomplete.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuated', 'surged', and 'drastic decline' appropriately. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'The unit is measure in Numbers' (should be 'measured') and 'In terms for Film club' (should be 'In terms of'). While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring grammatical accuracy when using technical terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'The graphs compares' (subject-verb agreement), 'at social centre' (missing article), and 'recorded the most number of participants' (should be 'highest number'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of the data. To reach a higher band, you should proofread your work to correct basic subject-verb agreement and article usage, and aim for more consistent accuracy in complex sentence constructions.
