Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all key features of the graph, including the overall trends and specific data points. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the dominance of the Film club and the contrasting trends between Table tennis and Amateur dramatics. However, the report could be improved by ensuring more precise data reporting. For instance, stating that the Film club ended with 'no change' is slightly vague, and the description of the Martial arts trend is repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons are more explicit, such as contrasting the growth of Table tennis directly against the decline of Amateur dramatics, rather than listing them in separate sentences.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that group the activities effectively. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'Meanwhile', 'On the other hand', and 'However' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing, such as 'Talking about Martial arts' and 'In terms for Film club', which sound slightly unnatural. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the overview from the detailed analysis. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated transitions that connect the sentences more fluidly rather than relying on repetitive sentence starters.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuated', 'surged', 'drastic decline', and 'recorded'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'The unit is measure in Numbers' (should be 'measured') and 'in terms for' (should be 'in terms of'). Additionally, 'minute fluctuation' is used to describe a trend that appears stable, which is slightly imprecise. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning clearly, incorporating more varied and precise academic collocations would help elevate the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'The graphs compares' (subject-verb agreement), 'at one social centre' (missing article), and 'at o participants' (typo). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band score. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and ensure that articles are used correctly before singular countable nouns.
