Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all categories (film club, table tennis, musical performances, martial arts, and amateur dramatics) and made relevant comparisons. The data points cited are generally accurate, and the report is well-structured. To reach a higher band, ensure that you provide more precise data comparisons, such as noting that table tennis overtook other activities to become the most popular by 2020. Your overview is effective, but ensure it remains distinct from the body paragraphs to clearly highlight the 'main features' as required by the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs that group the activities by trend (increasing vs. decreasing). You use cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand', 'To start with', and 'Lastly' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing could be improved by ensuring each paragraph focuses on a distinct trend rather than just listing activities. The progression of ideas is clear, and the referencing is generally accurate throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Phrases like 'all time high', 'consistant reduction', and 'fluctuated' are appropriate for a data-reporting task. There are a few minor spelling errors, such as 'activites' instead of 'activities' and 'pariticipants' instead of 'participants'. While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, incorporating more sophisticated synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' (e.g., 'surged', 'plummeted', 'experienced a downward trend') would elevate your score. The current range is functional but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. Most of your sentences are clear and easy to follow. There are occasional grammatical slips, such as 'number of participants of martial arts' (should be 'for') and 'number of students' (when referring to club members). Punctuation is generally sound, though some sentences could be refined for better flow. You have good control over basic structures, but to achieve a higher band, you should aim for more complex sentence forms with fewer minor errors.
