Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to address the task fully. While it identifies some main features, the analysis is incomplete as the report stops abruptly after the introduction of the second time period (2010–2020). The overview is present but lacks clarity, and the data reporting is inconsistent, with some figures mentioned without clear context. The failure to complete the description of the second half of the graph significantly impacts the ability to provide a comprehensive summary or make meaningful comparisons across the entire period. To improve, ensure all data points are covered and that the summary is balanced across the entire timeframe provided in the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a logical structure. The paragraphing is problematic, with the final section consisting of incomplete sentences and repetitive headers. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical and sometimes inaccurate way, such as the repetitive use of 'and' to connect clauses. The progression of ideas is hindered by the abrupt ending, which leaves the reader without a sense of completion. To improve, use clear paragraph breaks for the introduction, overview, and body paragraphs, and employ a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'subsequently', 'in contrast', 'meanwhile') to connect ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'least interaction of peoples' and 'musical performance is gets popular'. The student relies on basic descriptors and struggles with accurate collocations. Spelling errors, such as 'performanace', also detract from the overall quality. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more precise terminology for describing trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a steady growth', and ensure that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'musical performance is gets popular'), incorrect tense usage, and awkward sentence construction. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the spacing and the incomplete sentences at the end of the text. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, the student should practice using complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions, and pay closer attention to basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb tenses and pluralization.
