Overall, the number of participants in Film club remained consistently higher than the others activities; meanwhile, others experienced fluctuating trends throughout the period.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response effectively identifies the main features and trends of the graph. You have successfully highlighted the dominance of the Film club and the contrasting trends of other activities. The overview is clear and provides a good summary of the data. However, to reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are precise; for instance, stating 'others experienced fluctuating trends' is a bit vague. While you mention the start of Musical performances in 2005, ensure that all data points are clearly linked to the years provided. Overall, the response covers the requirements well and presents a logical summary of the information provided in the graph.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'meanwhile', 'on the other hand', and 'interestingly' to connect ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing could be improved by grouping the activities more effectively (e.g., those that increased vs. those that declined). Referencing is generally clear, but there are minor issues with flow between sentences in the final paragraph. Overall, the progression of ideas is logical and easy to follow throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information clearly. Phrases like 'remained consistently higher', 'fluctuating trends', and 'overtaken by' are used appropriately. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'others activities' (should be 'other activities') and 'the highest level' (should be 'the highest number'). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, there is room for more sophisticated collocations to describe trends. The vocabulary is adequate for the task and does not impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'participants in Film club started off by the highest level' (should be 'at the highest level') and 'Table tennis that was increased rapidly' (should be 'Table tennis, which increased rapidly'). Additionally, there are minor issues with articles and prepositions throughout the text. While these errors are noticeable, they do not significantly impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive versus active voice when describing trends.
