The given line graph illustrates the information on the number of participants for five different activities at one social center in Melbourne ,Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.
To begin with, it is noticeable that the y axis represents the years and the x axis represents the number of participants .Starting with the first activity which is the musical performance people showed no interest in the year 2000 but initially started showing interest in 2005 and kept increasing a bit year by year . Moving with the next activity table tennis it started with less than 20% in the year 2000 and reached 20% by the year 2010 and then surged up to more than 50% in the year 2020. Next we have amateur dramatics while it started it rose directly to more than 25% but witness a fall plummeted by the year 2020 and not even 10% people prefer it .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers all five activities and the time period, but the analysis is inconsistent. While you identify some trends, the description of the axes is incorrect (the y-axis represents participants, not years), which misrepresents the data. Furthermore, the summary at the end contradicts the body paragraphs (e.g., stating musical performance declined when the text earlier noted an increase). To improve, ensure your data interpretation is accurate and that your overview highlights the most significant trends rather than just listing details. The report lacks a clear, accurate overview of the main features.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between activities is mechanical, using phrases like 'Moving with the next activity' and 'Next we have'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'Next we have amateur dramatics while it started it rose directly', which lacks proper punctuation and flow. The final summary paragraph is disconnected from the previous analysis. To improve, use a wider range of cohesive devices to link ideas more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You use a limited range of vocabulary, and there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors. For example, 'reordered the highest figure' should be 'recorded the highest figure', and 'kept changing irregularly' is vague. There are also issues with collocations, such as 'not even 10% people prefer it'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey basic meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band. Focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary for describing trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', or 'remained stable'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include incorrect preposition usage ('starting from more the 64%'), missing articles, and run-on sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement and sentence boundaries. For instance, 'Martial arts experienced fluctuations starting with nearly 38% and being the same in the year 2020' is grammatically awkward. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
