Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the main trends, but the analysis is often inaccurate or unclear. For instance, you describe the film club as having an 'upward trend' and 'fluctuation' simultaneously, which is contradictory. The description of the data is frequently imprecise, such as stating 'Musical performances has not participants' (likely referring to 2000) and using vague terms like 'picked point' without clear context. While you identify some key features, the lack of clarity in reporting the data makes it difficult for the reader to follow the trends accurately. To improve, focus on clearly identifying the starting and ending points and describing the overall trajectory of each category with more precision.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Overall', 'Moreover', and 'whereas', but they are often applied incorrectly or in a way that does not effectively link the ideas. For example, the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is abrupt. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track which activity is being discussed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'number of participants' and 'activities' throughout the text. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'spand' (span), 'startd' (started), 'particlpants' (participants), and 'dairectly' (directly), which distract the reader. The use of 'surg' for 'surged' and 'tuch' for 'touch' indicates a need for more careful proofreading. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider variety of verbs to describe trends (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'remained stable') and ensure accurate spelling of common academic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Musical performances has not participants'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures (e.g., 'In table tennis activities was almost stable'). The use of complex structures is attempted but usually results in errors, such as 'Amateur dramatics startd downward was 2005'. The punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces and missing commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and using articles correctly before nouns.
