Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all key features of the graph, including trends and comparisons. You successfully identified the overall trends for each activity and provided specific data points for 2000 and 2020. However, the overview is slightly weak; while you mention the highest participant group, you could improve by highlighting the most significant shifts (e.g., the dramatic decline in Amateur dramatics versus the growth in Table tennis). The data is generally accurate, though the description of the Martial arts trend as 'remained same' is slightly inaccurate given the fluctuations mentioned. Overall, the response provides a clear summary of the main features as required by the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs detailing the data. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Although', 'Though', and 'In 2000', which help the flow of information. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'afterward its sky rocked along with it crossover'. The referencing is generally clear, but the progression between sentences could be smoother to avoid a list-like feel. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different categories of activities.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuation', 'upward trend', and 'downward trend'. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'sky rocked' (likely meant 'skyrocketed') and 'crossover', though these are used with some inaccuracy. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'initiated their journey' or 'demonstrate participants'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise collocation and spelling accuracy to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, such as 'The line bar illustrate', 'it catch up it started participant', and 'Musical performances demonstrated a increase'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are missing articles and awkward phrasing that occasionally distract the reader. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often faulty. Focusing on consistent tense usage and basic sentence construction will help improve your accuracy.
