Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts the ability to fully address the task. While you have attempted to identify some main features, such as the Film club's popularity and the fluctuations in martial arts, the analysis is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence. To achieve a higher band, you must provide a comprehensive overview, include all data categories, and ensure the response is of sufficient length to allow for a full development of the trends and comparisons requested in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response shows some attempt at logical organization, using an introductory sentence and an overview paragraph. However, the abrupt ending and the lack of a full body paragraph structure make it difficult to follow a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are minimal, and the transition between the overview and the specific data points is disjointed. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus and that you use a variety of linking words to connect your observations logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, with terms like 'fluctuate', 'significant growth', and 'accounted for' being appropriate for describing data. However, the range is limited, and there are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'Firm club' (likely a typo for Film club) and 'slightly growth' (should be 'slight growth'). To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of precise vocabulary to describe trends and avoid repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. For example, 'the 2000 to 2020' should be '2000 to 2020', and 'this figure decrease' lacks the correct tense ('decreased'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. To improve, focus on consistent verb tense usage when describing past data and proofread for basic grammatical accuracy.
