The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The line graph illustrates the number of participants in five activities such as film club, martial arts, amateur dramatics, table tennis, and musical performances in Melbourne, Australia from 2000 to 2020.
Overall, it is clear that the film club and the martial arts fluctuated considerably, whereas table tennis increased rapidly over the period. In addition, the amateur dramatics decreased consistently.
In 2000, the highest number of participants took part in film club, with 64 people, while martial arts participants lower than that of the film club with 36 members. Moreover, 28 and 18 number of people joined amateur dramatics and table tennis competition. In addition, the film club and martial arts participants changed dramatically over the period, by the end of 2020 it reached 68 and 37 people respectively.
The number of table tennis players rose considerably after 2010, and reaching 54 players in 2020. Furthermore, amateur dramatics declined after 2010 and by the end only 9 participants took part. Also, musical performance competition started in 2005 with 0 people. Between 2010 to 2020 it rose significantly with 28 person.
