Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response covers all key features of the graph, including the trends for all five activities. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the upward trend of the Film club and the decline of Amateur dramatics. However, the overview is slightly cluttered; it would be more effective to group the activities by their general trends (e.g., those that increased versus those that remained stable or declined). Additionally, there is a minor inaccuracy regarding the Musical performances, as the graph shows it starting in 2005, but your description of the 2000 data point is slightly confusing. Overall, the information is well-selected and reported.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'On the other hand', and 'In contrast' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is abrupt. The referencing is generally clear, but the structure within the second body paragraph could be improved to avoid repetitive sentence patterns. Overall, the progression of ideas is logical and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'upward trend', 'plummeted', and 'relatively stable' appropriately. There are some minor errors in word choice and phrasing, such as '62 number of participants' (should be '62 participants') and 'at the begining' (spelling error). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited, and there is occasional repetition of the word 'participants'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more varied synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' and ensure precise collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'despite the fact that it began in 2005'. However, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. For instance, 'Musical performances increasing noticeably' is a sentence fragment (missing a finite verb). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'the people showed no interest'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on consistent verb tense usage and sentence completeness will help improve your accuracy.
