Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all key features of the graph, including the trends for all five activities. You have successfully identified the main trends, such as the film club's dominance and the late emergence of musical performances. However, the overview is slightly cluttered; it would be more effective to group the activities by their overall trends (e.g., those that increased versus those that declined) rather than listing them. While you have included data points, some of the descriptions of the trends are a bit repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure the overview highlights the most significant differences between the activities more clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall,' 'besides these,' and 'after that,' but the flow is occasionally mechanical. The transition between sentences could be smoother; for instance, the jump between describing the film club and martial arts feels abrupt. Paragraphing is present, but the body paragraphs could be better balanced to improve the overall progression of ideas. Ensure that you use a wider variety of linking words to connect your points more naturally rather than relying on simple temporal markers.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuation,' 'decline,' and 'continuous rise.' However, there are several spelling errors ('Melbroune,' 'conitous,' 'fromm') and some awkward phrasing, such as 'illustrates about a number of participants.' The word choice is generally functional but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise reporting verbs and nouns, and ensure you proofread for basic spelling mistakes, which can distract the reader from your analysis.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('The martial arts shows,' 'its shows a rise') and incorrect preposition usage ('goes to upto'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and missing commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to lower the score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately without unnecessary repetition of conjunctions.
