Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all categories (film club, martial arts, amateur dramatics, table tennis, and musical performances) and made relevant comparisons, such as noting the dominance of the film club and the decline of amateur dramatics. The data is accurately reported, and the key features are highlighted effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that the overview is even more analytical by grouping trends more explicitly (e.g., contrasting the rising popularity of table tennis with the decline of amateur dramatics) rather than listing each category sequentially.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs dedicated to specific trends. The progression of ideas is smooth, and you use a variety of cohesive devices such as 'whereas', 'before', and 'in both'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different categories of activities. The flow is natural, and the information is easy to follow. To improve, you could use more sophisticated linking phrases to connect the body paragraphs, which would further enhance the logical flow between the different groups of data.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary appropriate for describing trends, such as 'dominated', 'culminated', 'stayed nearly stable', 'picked up', and 'rocketing'. These choices are precise and help convey the movement of the data effectively. There is a good level of flexibility in your word choice. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more varied synonyms for 'number' or 'figure' (e.g., 'participation levels', 'attendance figures', 'the count') to avoid repetition, and ensure that collocations are consistently natural throughout the report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0

Your grammar is generally accurate, and you use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively. The use of temporal clauses (e.g., 'before declining continuously to...') is well-handled and adds complexity to your writing. Most sentences are error-free, and your control over punctuation is solid. There are no significant errors that impede communication. To push into the higher bands, you could experiment with more advanced structures, such as passive voice constructions or participle clauses, to vary the sentence rhythm even further.
