Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all key features of the graph, including the trends for all five activities. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the significant increase in Table tennis and the stability of the Film club. However, the overview is slightly repetitive in its structure. To reach a higher band, ensure that the overview synthesizes the information more effectively rather than listing each activity individually. You have correctly selected and reported the main features, and the comparisons made between the activities are relevant and accurate, meeting the requirements for a clear summary of the provided data.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', and 'Similarly' to link ideas. However, the paragraphing is slightly unbalanced, and some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, though the way you refer to the data points (e.g., 'the individuals of Film club') is occasionally awkward, which slightly affects the flow of information. Overall, the progression of ideas is logical, and the structure is easy to follow throughout the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'dramatically increased', 'remained stable', and 'gradually fell off'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'the individuals of Film club' or 'the number of Table tennis figures'. These phrases are not natural in an academic context. To improve, focus on using more precise nouns to describe the data, such as 'participation levels' or 'attendance figures', rather than 'individuals' or 'figures' when referring to the activities themselves.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'the members of Table tennis significantly increased' (should be 'participation in Table tennis') and 'reached approximate 53 members' (should be 'approximately 53'). Additionally, there are minor issues with prepositions and articles, such as 'reached to near 20 members'. These errors do not impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will help improve your accuracy.
