Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the score. While you have attempted to identify main features, the reporting is often confusing and lacks clarity. For example, the description of the Film club and Table tennis trends is difficult to follow due to inaccurate data reporting and poor sentence structure. You have not provided a clear overview of the most significant trends, and the information is presented in a fragmented way. To improve, ensure you clearly group data by trends (e.g., increasing vs. decreasing) and provide a concise summary of the overall patterns observed across the 20-year period.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a logical flow. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the internal structure of the paragraphs is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often misused, such as the repetitive use of 'until' and 'from'. Referencing is unclear, and the progression of ideas is disjointed. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'meanwhile', 'subsequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph focuses on a specific, clearly defined aspect of the data to help the reader follow your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'increase' and 'decrease' without variation. There are also significant issues with word choice and spelling, such as 'recio' (ratio), 'reguler' (regular), and 'decreused' (decreased). These errors occasionally make it difficult for the reader to understand the intended meaning. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate a broader range of vocabulary related to data trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'remained stable', or 'a gradual rise', and pay closer attention to the correct spelling of these terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the graph illustrate'), incorrect word order, and missing articles. The sentence structures are mostly simple and often incomplete or poorly constructed, such as 'In Musical performances peoples from 2005 can participants.' There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
