Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the main features of the graph, but it fails to provide a complete overview. The description of the data is incomplete, as the response ends abruptly mid-sentence, leaving out significant information regarding several categories. While the main trends are identified, the lack of a full report on all categories and the incomplete nature of the text mean that the task is only partially addressed. To improve, ensure all categories are covered and the report is fully concluded.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'However', and 'In 2000'. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete final paragraph and some awkward phrasing, such as 'the ratio of participants... remained unchanged... just fluctuating'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the abrupt ending significantly disrupts the flow and logical structure of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision. There are several instances of awkward word choice, such as 'demanding for other activities' instead of 'demand for' and 'shoed' instead of 'showed'. The use of 'ratio' is also inaccurate in this context, as the data refers to raw numbers of participants rather than proportions. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology related to data trends and ensure correct word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'most of the people interested in joining Film club over the all given years' (missing verb/preposition issues) and 'the number of participants remained' (incomplete thought). Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding the general intent, they are frequent enough to impact the overall clarity of the writing.
